We're home

Well, it was a rough and bumpy road, but we have been in the house for almost 3 weeks and it's really starting to feel like a home.  The kids are so amazingly happy, it just goes to show that children are resilient and everything we have put them through this last 6 months has totally been worth it!  We are so happy to have the animals back at home (thanks to mom and dad for keeping them for what seemed like forever!) and pictures are starting to slowly get hung up on the walls.  I finally found all of the family pictures tonight and got to hang up quite a few of them.  Sure does make it homey!  We were also so excited to find a bunch of plants on sale for the fall season and scooped up a lot of them and already have everything planted in the front yard!  We won't have grass until next spring, but I sure do love seeing something green in the yard!    You really can't tell too much, because they are pretty small, but they really are there!  The kids had a great time "helping" and Bentley is happy to have some bushes to mark his territory! 

 

A couple more weeks and the Bennett B&B will be open and ready for family to come and stay!  The kids will have to take all their forts down, downstairs for the family, but they'll be happy to have some company! 

 

Hope everything is going well for everyone and we can't thank you enough for all of the prayers and good thoughts through the last 6 months.  Thanks for holding us strong and for listening to us wine and complain, and again a super huge THANK YOU to mom, dad and grandma for watching the dogs this summer.  I know they had fun, but they are certainly happy to be back with their family!  Love to you all!

4 days!

It's almost here!  I seriously can't believe it!  So much going on in the house today!  Plumber set almost everything. Sinks, toilets and faucets are done, he's only missing the shower head in our shower!  All plumbing works, so we all took bathroom breaks! Whohoo!  The rock is all done on the outside and grouted too. Lights are almost done, just missing a couple lights and a couple switches!  And the lights work too!!  We are closing Friday at 9am, so it'll be close.  Sounds like we will have a few contractors in the house next week,  but at this point I don't care!  We figured out, we've been in the camper for 19 weeks this weekend, so we can put up with a couple contractors for a week as long as its in my house!  Love you all!  Xoxo

Flooding

Both the kids and us had a day off!!  Out work got canceled and school did as well. We stopped at the house today and nothing was progressing because all the subs were stuck as well. This is a picture out the window on the second floor the pond wasn't there last week and the raging river on the other side wasn't there either. What a storm!  We checked the roof and the basement and no water leaking! Figured if the house made it through these 10ish inches the past few days then we should be okay for winter!  One more week!!!!!  Xoxo

We have lights, but no electricity yet!!

The light fixtures are mostly in. A few left to do, but should be done tomorrow. The tile guy is almost done too. Tomorrow he should finish grouting and be done. Loving it!!!  Xoxo 

9 days!!

Wow. I can't believe how fast things are moving!  Counter tops are in and they look so great!  Outside Rock is about 3/4 done, but not sure he can finish today because of the rain. Love you all. Xoxo

Once again

It has begun again. PACKING!!!  

And of course, we stopped at the house again and the carpet layers were working!!  This is the living room! If there was running water, we might have stayed!  Xoxo

12 days!!!!

It's actually starting to look like a home!  All the trim is up, interior doors hung, kitchen cabinets up, linoleum down and the tile on the bathroom are about 1/2 done. Carpet and paint on the doors and trim is next, then countertops and back splashes, and finals for plumber and electrician!  It's hard to actually leave the house when we go look.  Love you all!!

16 days!!!

This is the hardwood floors they started to lay yesterday!  They should finish today!  They look so pretty!!!

18 Days!!!!

Phew what a busy, but completly awesome Sunday!!  We went to Trail Ridge Road today. It is above tree level and man, there's not much O2 up there!! The kids kept saying how this was an awesome trip, the coolest picnic spot and just loved everything.  It made me so happy!!  We took two short hikes, and no complaints at all!  Then we came home (got some ice cream on the way home) and stopped at the house and the painter is almost done (he's super super slow). I think he only works a few hours a day, urgh! Then we came home and rode horses. It was a good day!!  The best part, 18 MORE DAYS! whohoo!!!  Love you all!!

We were in the clouds!!  It was so awesome!  Sydney actually "ate" one!  It was super cute!

Primer on the walls!

It really smelled, but it's really moving along!  Some of the gutters are up and the primer is on the walls.  Tomorrow the texture people will be there and the painter has been scheduled for Wednesday.  It'll take a couple days for painting and then hardwood floors next week and then Jake (Katie's husband) will come and hang the cabinets that we finished today (YEAH!) and doors and trim!  It so exciting!!!!  xoxo

Long weekend

We stained all the cabinets this weekend. It was a very long weekend. Friday night, all day Saturday and Sunday!  We have one more side of the doors and then we are done!  I love saving money, but man was I tired!!  Kaden and Kyrah watched a movie in the future kitchen. Kaden took a nice nap and was much happier afterwards!  Love to you all. Xoxoxo

August 17th

Updates! It's sure moving slow, but here's some new pictures.

This is how the kids sleep most nights. Notice the top bunk, EMPTY! There is no leg room for Sydney and not much for Kyrah, but they sleep really good!  Not sure what they will do when there's actual bedrooms! 

We are still TBD on the closing. Thought it would be around August 13th but with the delays this week, not sure if that will happen or not. 

Sydney and Kaden got pink eye today, but thankfully got them both on antibiotics so Sydney can start school on Tuesday. Kyrah and Sydney are both very excited to start, and we are looking forward to being busy so the next month flies by! Love to you all, keep us on your prayers!  Xoxo

End of softball and baseball - from July 25th

Tonight was Kadens last night for baseball and the girls were done a few days ago. They all did so well and it was so much fun watching them improve!  Here's a couple pictures.
