Tomorrow's Project

So tomorrow we are going to paint Sydney's room. Yikes, we got a lot of work to do! So here are the before pictures of her room...note to self, don't ever, ever, ever buy the expensive blue tape for taping walls and frames; it sucks! See you can see it falling off already...so next time I'm buying the semi cheap regular masking tape, which you can't see is actually staying in the ceiling!
More tape falling off and a really messy closet! Any ideas for the closet would be appreciated!

Fun

Here's Sydney with our batch of cookies over the weekend. She is really good at each end of the projects. She is good at helping stir and eating the dough, and good at putting them away. Not so good at keeping up with the timers and in between cleaning!!!

Kyrah tonight, playing with the chairs...

Daddy and Sydney playing in the chair.

My new laundry and dishwasher detergent

So, in my trying to save money in all different directions, I have made my own laundry and dish detergent. I got the recipe from the Internet and have tried both now and they both seem to work awesome! Grandma sent an article that the nuns in Minnesota use this exact recipe and if the nuns can do it, so can I! I thought that everyone might want the recipe, so here it is!

For the Landry soap - go to "The Duggars" website. For those of you who don't know who the Duggars are, they are the people that have 18 kids (crazy people!). http://www.duggarfamily.com/recipes.html

For the dish detergent, use one Tablespoon of Washing Soda (not Baking Soda) and one tablespoon of Borax. That's it...

The recipe for the laundry soap costs less than $2 for 10 gallons of detergent and for the dish detergent it's less than $.04 per load.

Thought everyone would like to save some money! Let me know if you have any questions, have fun being GREEN!!!

National Western Stock Show

Sydney and I met Cathy at the Stock Show today and we had so much fun! Sydney absolutely loved it and did really well walking all over. We saw lots of horses, and watched a jumping class and then went down and got to pet a bunch of other horses in the stables. We saw miniature horses and went to the petting zoo. I think we all had a good time, and it sure did bring back a ton of memories for me! I hope that more people will meet us next year so we can make this an annual trip!

On a side note: Kyrah is feeling much better. She had double ear infections this week and is finally on the mend. Kyrah stayed home with daddy today and they had fun too!

The stories behind the pictures

So if you were to look at this picture, you'd think "man, it's 6:17pm, Kyrah is messy and still in her pajamas!", and you'd be right...this is New Year's Day, and even though mom and dad didn't have any hang overs, it was a "PJ all day" kind of day! (And yes, she got new pajamas when she went to bed, after a bath!). So the whole story is below.

Here is Sydney, New Year's Eve eating Fondue. We made White Chocolate and Milk Chocolate Fondue with all the fixings. It was so good (probably way too good!).

So we had leftovers on New Year's Day and the girls got fondue. Aunt Rain and given Kyrah some banana's with chocolate on them the night before and so I thought I'd give her some this night too. So, I put Chocolate on the banana and put it on her tray, and she ate the first one fast. So I have her another one, and this is what happened.

"TaDa" She painted her nails with the chocolate and got it in her hair, and decided that "Ariel" needed to eat some chocolate too. It was too cute to miss!

In our next set of pictures, you'd think that Kyrah was calling for "Buddy" AKA Jackson, outside, which she was...

...but we missed a few things a while later and decided to take a look outside.
